THE FUTURE OF UNMANNED IS HERE

“Rotor worked with aerial firefighting agencies very early on in development to make sure Airtruck can operate from remote locations and in austere operating conditions. This sets them apart from any other UAV manufacturer.”

Mark Bathrick
Former Director of Aviation, Department of the Interior

“Since it can perform a wide range of missions, from agriculture to entertainment, with high efficiency and safety, there's little doubt that we will see more of these aircraft in the future.”

FAQs

Can you convert my Robinson R44 into a Airtruck?

Rotor offers an Airtruck retrofit option for all Robinson R44 models priced between $550,000 - $825,000. Retrofit Airtruck packages are inclusive of the same equipment as a "factory-new" Airtruck package. Pricing is dependent on airframe overhaul needs and subject to Rotor's airworthiness assessment.

For more information on retrofit options, please contact us.

Can I use it to carry people?

Rotor's UAVs are heavy lift drones designed for utility missions like agriculture and firefighting. They are not certified to carry people.

What licenses do I need to fly the Airtruck?

Rotor is seeking FAA authorization to allow Airtruck Remote Pilots in Command (RPIC) to operate the aircraft by holding a Part 107 remote pilot license and completing Rotor's factory training course.

At present, Airtruck test flights are being conducted by Rotor's own pilots who hold both FAA Commercial Helicopter Pilot and Part 107 (drone) piloting licenses.

What is your relationship with Robinson?

Rotor is an independent company from Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC). However, we collaborate closely with RHC on engineering, certification, and supply chain. You can read more about this here.

Is there an optional onboard pilot supported?

No, Rotor's UAVs are not an optionally-piloted vehicles (OPVs), they do not have flight controls or seats onboard and are not certified to carry people.

What third-party add-ons and mission payloads are supported?

The Airtruck is designed to be a versatile and customizable multi-mission platform. It supports  thd party payloads including gimbals, cameras, cargo buckets, winches, hoists, and firefighting tanks. Most products with an STC for the Robinson R44 Raven II are compatible with the Airtruck out of the box. Rotor also provides payload integration and testing services for custom payloads.
